Kohl's gives $78,000 grant to St. Luke's Children's Hospital

Published: December 1, 2012

Kohl's department store gave St. Luke's Children's Hospital a $77,883 grant to support a children's safety campaign by the hospital and Safe Kids Treasure Valley.

The money will help support a 12-month awareness, education and distribution program called "Safety in a Snap!" The program is aimed at teaching children and their parents and other caregivers the importance of snapping on helmets before riding a bicycle or skateboard or taking part in winter sports like skiing and sledding.

The grant, awarded Saturday at St. Luke's Nampa Health Plaza, came through the national Kohl's Cares program. Kohl's Cares is funded by the profits from $5 books and plush toys sold by Kohl's. It has provided almost $300,000 of funding for St. Luke's Children's Hospital in the last five years.
