Scentsy, the Meridian wickless-candle maker, said Friday that it is laying off 19 employees, all but one in Idaho.
The layoffs do not indicate the company is facing financial trouble, spokeswoman Susan Rowe said. They are simply the result of a slightly different organizational model, she said.
We just reorganized our workforce for greater efficiencies, Rowe said.
After forming the company in 2004, Scentsy owners Heidi and Orville Thompson used a direct-selling model to build it into a consumer-products giant with customers and consultants throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, Puerto Rico and Guam.
Today, the company employs some 1,100 workers in a variety of locations across the nation.
Employees who lost their jobs received severance packages and services to help them find new jobs, according to a company statement.
