ESPN Radio will move to 730 AM in Boise on Jan. 1, the station announced Friday. ESPN Radio programming currently airs on KTIK's two stations, 93.1 FM and 1350 AM.
KTIK will move to the CBS Radio Sports Network on Jan. 2, General Manager Don Morin told the Statesman.
"We could not be happier with our plans to move forward with the proven worldwide leader in sports," said Darrell Calton, the general manager and CEO of Impact Radio Group, which owns 730 AM.
Said Morin, "Locally and nationally we made the decision to move to CBS Sports Radio Network. We like the direction they're headed."
KTIK will continue to air Jim Rome, now affiliated with CBS, and Idaho Sports Talk with Jeff Caves and Idaho Statesman sports editor Mike Prater. "The real guts of our lineup, you will continue to hear," Morin said.
KTIK said it has its ESPN affiliation through Jan. 1. Impact (730 AM) said it would carry ESPN programming on Jan. 1, including several live college bowl games including the Rose Bowl and Orange Bowl.
