Students help Idaho say ‘happy holidays’ with greeting card contest

Overall winner: Benicio Avila, 2nd grade, Orchards Elementary in Lewiston

Second-grade art prodigy: Benicio Avila from Orchards Elementary in Lewiston won the 2012 contest with his scene of birch trees on a winter night. The work will grace the Idaho Department of Education’s holiday greeting card. “His artwork is unique, and he has already developed his own style,” said Joy Rapp, Lewiston School District superintendent.
