RECOGNITION

Valerie “Val” Heusinkveld, of Boise, has been elected to the board of directors of the University of Idaho Foundation, Inc.

Dr. Vincent Muli Kituku, founder of Caring Hearts and Hands of Hope, has been nominated by the Kenyan ambassador to the U.S. for National Honors and Awards conferred by the president of the Republic of Kenya. The nomination was for Kituku’s organization’s contribution of school tuition and fees for orphans, children of widows and other destitute students in Kenya.

GOOD DEEDS

Bank of the Cascades issued a $1,000 grant to Senior Solutions, Inc., which will be used to provide services to elderly people who need help to remain living independently.
