Meet the authors

Idaho River Sports will host Outdoor Author’s Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at 3100 W. Pleasanton Ave., Boise. Meet authors Jo Deurbrouck, Matt Leidecker, Steve Stuebner, Sandy Epeldi, Bill Sedivy, Eve Chandler, Ron Watters, Kathy Daly and others for a book signing.

There will be wine, appetizers, nonalcoholic beverages and door prizes. Ten percent of all sales will go to Idaho Rivers United. The event is free. For details call 336-4844.

BIRD FEEDING

Sale on seed at MK Nature Center

The sixth annual Holiday Bird Seed Sale will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at 600 S. Walnut Ave. You can buy bird seed in 5-pound, 20-pound or 40-pound bags. Other items for sale include bird feeders, nature books, apparel, jewelry and children’s gifts. Many of the items are locally made.

Children can visit Santa Claus at the event and also make a wildlife-related craft from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Santa visits will be $5 to sit on his lap while parents take their child’s picture, and an additional $3 if staff takes the picture.
