Three from Treasure Valley hospitalized after collision with dead deer

Published: November 25, 2012

A rollover crash that sent three Treasure Valley residents to the hospital — including a 10-year-old boy — was reported at about 10:55 p.m. Saturday on westbound Interstate 84 in Gooding County, according to Idaho State Police. The crash was near milepost 150.

The crash victims were: Judy Randles, 53 of Boise; Robert Eglinton, 31, and Tyler Eglinton, 10, both Kuna. They were transported by ground ambulance to North Canyon Medical Center in Gooding.

Police say Randles was driving the group in a 2005 Ford Focus west on Interstate 84 when the vehicle struck a dead deer in the road. Randles lost control of the vehicle, and it went off the north side of the highway. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on its top.

Investigators say Randles and Tyler Englinton were wearing seatbelts, but Robert Eglinton was not.

The right lane of westbound Interstate 84 was blocked for about 90 minutes. Sheriff's deputies from Gooding and Jerome counties assisted Idaho State Police.
