NFL Idaho ties: Clady looking forward to future with Broncos

Published: November 25, 2012

Despite rejecting a reported five-year, $50 million contract extension last summer, Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady (Boise State) is optimistic that he’ll remain with Denver after the season. “I’m very confident,” he told Mile High Sports Radio. “The organization wants me here and I want to be here.” Clady can be a free agent after this season, but the two-time Pro Bowler could also be franchised by the team after the year. However, Clady indicated that he’s hoping to sign a long-term deal with the Broncos.

• Bears defensive end Shea McClellin (Boise State) suffered a concussion in Week 10 and missed last week’s game against the 49ers, but he was cleared to play Wednesday and will be in the lineup Sunday as Chicago hosts Minnesota.

• Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick had surgery Friday to repair a broken left hand he injured in the second quarter of Dallas’ loss to Washington on Thursday. It hasn’t been determined whether Scandrick will be able to return this season, the source said. “Being optimistic, hopefully I’ll be back,” Scandrick told ESPN. “If there is any way I can play, I will be back.”

• Veteran guard Jake Scott (Idaho) was signed by the Eagles on Nov. 12, and started at right guard six days later. “It wasn’t perfect, and obviously we lost, so it wasn’t good enough,” he told Philadelphia Eagles.com on Wednesday. “But I think I’ll improve this week; I think I'll play even better this week. … I felt like I had a pretty good grasp of the offense. I knew what to do most of the time. It wasn’t as crisp as it could be, but everything was OK.” Scott is expected to start again Monday when the Eagles host the Panthers.

• Former Boise Burn lineman Kyle DeVan was released by the Titans on Saturday.
