Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State wrestlers’ upset bid falls short vs. Oregon St.

The Broncos rallied to take a 16-15 lead over the 15th-ranked Beavers, but a pin in the final bout gave OSU a 21-16 victory Saturday at the Border War in Spokane Valley, Wash. George Ivanov (157 pounds), Holden Packard (165), Jake Swartz (184), Brian Owen (133) and Rami Haddadin (125) earned victories for the Broncos.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Westminster defeated the Coyotes 65-39 to claim the title at the Best Western Caldwell Inn and Suites Lady Yote Classic in Caldwell. Felicity Jones led the Coyotes (4-3) with nine points and 10 rebounds.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S BASKETBALL: Jordan Nicholes scored 14 points to lead three players in double figures as the Crusaders topped the Academy of Art 78-70 in Phoenix.

NNU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The Crusaders defeated No. 24 Metro State 55-54 in the Fairfield Inn Classic in Nampa. Megan Hingston led NNU (5-0) with 19 points, and Kylee Schierman pulled down 14 rebounds.

IDAHO STATE VOLLEYBALL: The Bengals lost to Northern Colorado 3-2 in the Big Sky Tournament championship in Greeley, Colo. Setter Lori Mendenhall and middle blocker Jaclyn Hone-Hawkins made the all-tournament team.
