Caldwell police arrested Maria D. Delgado, a.k.a. Magdaleno, 44, of Caldwell Friday. They charged her with three felonies, burglary, grand theft and fraudulent use of a financial transaction card, as well as possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor.

Police made the arrest after being called to Paul's Market in Caldwell about the theft of a purse from a Paul's cashier. Officers watched a security video of the theft and recognized the suspect as Delgado from similar incidents.

Officers arrested Delgado at her home in the 3400 block of Airport Ave. in Caldwell. They searched her house and found additional items, including purses, pocket books and cell phones. They were able to connect a purse they found to a separate theft reported in Nampa.

Delgado was also identified on a security camera using stolen debit and credit cards at a Caldwell Maverick store shortly after the alleged theft on Friday.

Police are still investigating the incident. They expect to identify and arrest more suspects.

If you have been the victim of a purse theft in the Canyon County area in the past couple months, contact the Caldwell Police Department Investigations Division, Corporal Scott Crupper at 250-1250.
