Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State wrestles at No. 15 Oregon State on Saturday

Boise State competes in its first Pac-12 dual of the season, taking on the Beavers at Central Valley High in Spokane. The match starts at 6 p.m. The Broncos (0-3) feature three wrestlers in the Amateur Wrestling News Division I College Rankings: No. 2 Jason Chamberlain (149 pounds), No. 11 Jake Swartz (184) and No. 16 Brian Owen (133). Oregon State has six ranked wrestlers and is 0-1 after losing to Michigan last week. Boise State opens its home schedule against Arizona State on Jan. 20.

BSU VOLLEYBALL: The Broncos lost their season finale 19-25, 25-21, 25-20, 12-25, 15-9 on the road at Fresno State. Alyssa Gammel led BSU (17-15, 8-8 MW) with a career-high 28 kills. The Broncos finished fifth in their final Mountain West season.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S BASKETBALL: The Crusaders fell to Grand Canyon 74-68 in Phoenix. Jonathan Hawkins and Kevin Rima led NNU (2-2) with 18 points apiece.

NNU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Chelsie Luke scored 20 points as the Crusaders (4-0) beat the Academy of Art 66-62 in the Fairfield Inn Classic in Nampa.

IDAHO STATE VOLLEYBALL: The Bengals advanced to the Big Sky Tournament championship with a 20-25, 25-19, 26-24, 27-29 win over Northern Arizona in Greeley, Colo. Three Bengals posted double-doubles in the contest. ISU will face Northern Colorado for the title at 7 p.m. Saturday.
