Christmas celebrations ring in season

Published: November 23, 2012

Just 32 days till Christmas With the turkey and other leftovers now in the fridge, there’s no excuse not to admit it’s time to think about Christmas — even for the Scrooges among us.

When does Boise light its Christmas tree? That’s Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. in Grove Plaza at 8th and Main streets.

When will the Capitol tree be lighted? That comes on Monday at 5:30 p.m. on the south steps of the Capitol. The governor and first lady will use it to kick off Make-A-Wish Idaho’s Season of Giving, raising money to grant wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.

When is Boise’s holiday parade? It starts at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at 11th & Jefferson.

Is that it for community celebrations? Nope. Meridian’s tree lighting is at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. Eagle and Kuna hold their Christmas celebrations Saturday afternoon, Dec. 8.
