This nymph takes a few minutes to tie and looks good.

Hook: Size 8 to 12 scud hook.

Body: Green floss covered with larva lace.

Collar: Peacock herl.

Tip: This nymph takes a few minutes to tie and looks good. It has a nice silhouette, and the floss and larva lace give it a translucent, holographic look. It's an effective nymph for winter angling, and whitefish really like it. You can tie it in a multitude of colors because some days, fish may favor one color over another. Even a novice fly tyer can crank out a dozen in about an hour, so you won't be sweating if you donate a few to the rocks and logs.
