Stampede closing in on season-opening roster

Published: November 21, 2012

First-year coach Mike Peck cut four players — including former Boise State standout Reggie Larry — from his roster this week. That leaves him with an 11-man roster, and he needs to trim one more player Wednesday.

The Stampede open the season next Wednesday at Los Angeles, and their home opener is Dec. 7 against Austin. Idaho got its first taste of game action when it played its lone exhibition contest Monday night. Idaho lost 111-103 to Reno, but a couple of Stampede players excelled in the loss. Durrell Summers tallied 32 points and eight rebounds, and Justin Harper had 20 points and five rebounds.
