College of Idaho runner Holt wins national title

Hillary Holt, No. 51, won the individual championship at the NAIA Women’s Cross Country National Championships on Saturday in Vancouver, Wash. The Mountain View High graduate won the 5,000-meter race with a time of 17:00, 20 seconds ahead of Lindsey Wilson’s Sharon Ronoh. British Columbia won the team title with 98 points, 14 ahead of the College of Idaho, which took second.

Senior Greg Montgomery capped his career with a second-place finish in the men’s race. He set a school record in the 8,000 meters with a time of 24 minutes, 6 seconds as the Coyotes finished 11th in the 31-team field.
