Caldwell lights holiday tree Friday as part of downtown celebration

Published: November 16, 2012

Caldwell’s fifth annual Winter Wonderland celebration kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday with a holiday open house at the historic Caldwell Train Depot, followed by a lighting of the holiday tree at 7 p.m. The area, including bridges and trees along Indian Creek, will be ablaze with color from thousands of Christmas lights. Kid-friendly activities will include Santa’s workshop, a kiddie train, live animals and characters in costume. Food vendors, a Christmas Bazaar and entertainment are planned. The open house continues until 9 p.m. Friday, and holiday themed activities continue in the plaza from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The holiday tree is set up at South 7th Avenue and Blaine Street downtown, about a block from the depot plaza where other activities are centered. The depot is located at the end of 7th Avenue, just north of Main Street.
