The Boise Art Museum will become home to a ghostly herd of White Elephants this weekend. Sculptor Billie Grace Lynn builds these life-size inflatable pachyderms out of rip-stock nylon as a metaphor for our times. Elephants are rife with meaning. The sacred white elephant was a prestigious possession and a heavy burden that bankrupted many. Theres also the elephant in the room referring to an unspoken problem. These ethereal creatures eerily shifting and swaying as air moves act as a metaphor for our times that are expensive to sustain and too precious to give up.
