Eric Church is riding high. The 35-year-old country singer’s affinity for rock has made him a Nashville outsider for years, but his latest album, “Chief,” was a mainstream breakthrough. Powered by strong songs such as the Boss-loving “Springsteen,” it picked up Album of the Year at this year’s Country Music Association awards. In concert, Church prefers a no-frills approach — he’s not a fan of video screens — so prepare to sweat a little and shake your fist to an intimate anthem or two.
