There are several chances to see Warren Miller’s “Flow State” at the Egyptian Theatre, 700 W. Main St. in Boise.

Shows are being sponsored by the Bogus Basin Ski Club at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 15-16, and Saturday, Nov. 17 with showings at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15, evenings and $13 matinee and available at the Egyptian box office or at 387-1273 and egyptiantheatre.net.

The 18th Annual Auction for the Rivers is 6 to 9:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, at the Boise Train Depot, 2603 Eastover Terrace.

Tickets are $10 for members of Idaho Rivers United and $15 for non-members.

Hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine will be available.

Some auction items include a trip on rivers in Costa Rica, a week in Mexico and a trip for two down the Main Salmon River.

The second annual Sawtooth Snow Safety Festival is noon to 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, at Carol’s Dollar Mountain Lodge at Sun Valley Resort.

The free event is sponsored by the Sawtooth National Avalanche Center, Sawtooth Mountain Guides, Sun Valley Trekking, Sun Valley Ski Patrol and the Sun Valley area ski and snowboard retailers.

As backcountry and side country skiing and snowboarding in the Sun Valley area grows in popularity, so does the need for education to safely navigate untracked powder.

Subjects include identifying avalanche terrain, reading snow conditions and snow reports, preparing for backcountry mishaps, as well as proper technique for use of snow safety equipment.

The annual Turkey Shoot at the Boise Gun Club is 3 p.m. to midnight, Nov. 21.

Shotgunners aren’t really shooting at turkeys. It’s a trap and skeet shooting competition for more than 600 prizes, such as turkeys and hams. Cost is $6 per shoot ticket.

Get to the club by taking the Blacks Creek exit off Interstate-84 and going west for 6 miles; or taking the Orchard Avenue exit off I-84 going south around the airport to South Pleasant Valley Road. Turn south for 6 miles to Kuna-Mora Road then go east for a mile.
