Eagle will hold another election on City Hall bond in May

Published: November 13, 2012

EAGLE — Because of an Election Day ballot snafu, some voters didn’t get a chance to vote on whether or not the city issues bonds to purchase the building.

The City Council decided Tuesday to bring the issue to voters again, after City Councilman Norm Semano made a motion to hold the election May 21.

“This is the only way that we can be sure that everyone that was entitled to vote could vote,” Councilwoman Mary Defayette told the Idaho Statesman.

The measure to approve bonds to buy the City Hall building failed by 25 votes, just shy of the percentage needed to trigger an automatic recount.
