Meaghan Ann Trulson is being held in the Ada County Jail on a felony prostitution charge after Idaho State Police say the Washington woman admitted to having sexual contact with at least one customer in the Boise area.
Police arrested the 27-year-old Trulson after pulling her car over for speeding going eastbound on Interstate 84 Saturday afternoon near the Vista Avenue interchange.
Thats when officers say they found out Trulson had a hotel room in Boise and when she admitted to having a customer there prior to when she was pulled over Saturday afternoon, according to reports.
Investigators also say they found evidence Trulson used the website backpage.com to find customers, according to reports. Backpage.com is similar to craigslist.org, the popular free online classified ads website.
Trulson is also charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
Police also charged 23-year-old Erik Casimro Pradia, a passenger in the car who jail records say is from Springs, Texas, with misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.
Both are charged with resisting because they were not truthful with officers at various times during the investigation, ISP officials said Monday.
Officers also found that Trulson had similar arrests in at least one other state, which allowed them to arrest her on a felony prostitution charge, ISP officials said Monday.
Trulson is charged under Idaho Code section 18-5603, which says that any person who knowingly receives money or any object of value to procure a prostitute shall be guilty of a felony.
The crime of receiving pay for procurement is punishable by up to 20 years in prison, with a two year minimum sentence.
Trulson is set to make her initial court appearance Tuesday afternoon. Fourth District Magistrate Court is closed Monday for Veterans Day.
