VETERANS DAY EVENTS

MONDAY

Boise State Veterans Day Ceremony: 11 a.m., Bronco Stadium end zone. Reception follows at the Steuckle Sky Center. Celebration features on-campus and community speakers and a children’s choir from Garfield Elementary School. Lt. Col. Mary Kelly, field medic with the 1st Battalion, 148th Field Artillery and chief nurse for the Idaho Army National Guard, will speak. The public event is free. Golden Corral Buffet: Free meal to veterans on Nov. 12, 8460 W. Emerald St., Boise.

VETERANS DAY CLOSURES

Veterans Day is observed Monday:

• Schools in the Boise, Meridian, Kuna, Caldwell, Melba and Vallivue, Nampa and Middleton school districts will be open.

• Boise State University and Administrative offices will be open.

• Federal offices will be closed.

• Some county, state and city offices, including libraries, may be closed. Call for information.

• Allied Waste in Ada and Canyon counties, Sanitary Services in Meridian, J & M Sanitation Service in Kuna and Benjamin’s Rural Disposal in rural Canyon County will operate a regular schedule.

• ValleyRide city buses will run on their regular schedule.

• Post offices will be closed, and no mail, except Express Mail, will be delivered.

• Boise Towne Square mall will be open. Boise Outlet Mall will be open.

• Most supermarkets will be open.

• Most banks will be closed. Some in-store branches may be open; check your local branch.
