Dancer and choreographer Lauren Edson brought home the $5,000 grand prize from the "Dance Under the Stars" choreography festival in Palm Desert, Calif. Nov. 10.

Edson's piece was one of 10 chosen from a field of 100 choreographers who submitted work. She took an eclectic group of dancers with her from Ballet Idaho, Idaho Dance Theater and the Boise Dance Cooperative.

"It's pretty amazing how many important people were there for making connections," Edson says. "There was some good competition, too, so we felt pretty good about it all."

Here are some images from Edson's winning piece "Two Against One," taken at a preview performance at the SPEC at Boise State before they left.
