Boise public free skate will celebrate art installation

Published: November 10, 2012

The public is invited to help celebrate the installation “Razor Sharp and Fast,” a new public art piece by Byron Folwell, with free skating and cake from 4-5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 at Idaho IceWorld, 7072 S. Eisenman Road.

“The metal wall sculpture brings warmth to the cold ice rink through the colorful lights, sweeping arches and curving steel representing the ice skaters speeding around the rink,” says Karen Bubb, Boise public arts manager.

This project is a partnership between the Boise City Department of Arts & History and Boise Parks & Recreation.

Idaho IceWorld (www.idahoiceworld.com) is an indoor ice complex operated by Boise Parks & Recreation. A family-oriented recreation facility, IceWorld features two ice rinks, a large multi-purpose room, pro shop, restaurants and other vendors.
