A noisy car muffler led police to two stolen firearms after officers stopped the driver Thursday in Boise.

Police say the car driven by Tyler Andrew Hunsaker, 21, could be heard "well in excess of 100 feet," so they stopped him at North Maple Grove Road and Woodhaven Court about 6 p.m.

Hunasker was driving on a suspended license and also had the stolen shotgun "in plain sight tucked in the side of the driver's seat," according to a news release. A handgun found in the car also was reported stolen, police say.

Hunasker was booked into jail for felony grand theft and misdemeanor driving without privileges.
