Get your nonperishables ready: Saturday is 'Scouting for Food'

Published: November 8, 2012

Scouting for Food, the second largest food drive of the year, is set for Saturday, Nov. 10, in the Treasure Valley.

Boy Scouts from across the region will be out to collect food that will help feed hungry Idaho families this winter.

All donors have to do is leave bags of canned food donations near their front doors early on Saturday, Nov. 10. The Scouts will pick up starting at 8 a.m.

Anyone whose donation is not picked up by noon can take it to one of these locations:

The Idaho Foodbank: 3562 S. TK Ave., Boise

Boy Scout Office: 8901 W. Franklin Rd., Boise

Lowell Scott Middle School: 13600 McMillan, Meridian

Or people can drop food at the Foodbank any time. Last year, the donations totaled 94,626 pounds. The goal this year is 100,000 pounds.
