McCall combined Nordic pass on sale now

The pass for Bear Basin, Ponderosa State Park, Jug Mountain Ranch and the Activity Barn are on sale at Hometown Sports, Gravity Sports and the HUB in McCall.

New this year is a discount being offered at Tamarack Resort for pass holders on its the Nordic trails.

The cost of the pass remains the same as last year, $135 for individuals and $250 for families until Dec. 1, when the price will increase $20 for both passes.

Skiers who can’t make it to McCall to buy a pass before Dec. 1 can call any of the stores that have passes and arrange to have one put on hold.

Skiers who plan to visit McCall, but don’t need a season pass, can also buy five- and seven-day passes. Go to mccallnordic.com for more information, and for the phone numbers of the shops selling the passes.

BACKCOUNTRY SKIING

Avalanche clinic Sunday in Boise

Payette Powder Guides, a backcountry ski outfitter in the McCall area, will give a free avalanche safety clinic at 5:30 p.m., Nov. 11, at The North Face store at 802 W. Idaho St. in Boise.

Payette Powder Guides offers guided day trips and fully catered, multiday ski outings based out of yurts at Lick Creek Summit, northeast of McCall. Avalanche classes are also offered.
