Idaho trades for former Michigan State guard

Published: November 6, 2012

The Stampede have acquired Durrell Summers in a trade with new league franchise, the Santa Cruz Warriors. Summers was selected 61st overall in last week’s D-League draft, though he spent last season with the Maine Red Claws. He averaged 10.8 points and 3.2 rebounds in 12 contests (including six starts). In exchange for Summers, the Stampede sent their 2013 third-round draft pick along with 2012 draft pick Harouna Mutombo (eighth round) to Santa Cruz. Mutombo was selected 115th overall out of Western Carolina. Idaho opens its season Nov. 18 at Los Angeles, and its home season Dec. 7 against Austin.
