A Utah man arrested on Interstate 84 in Canyon County with nearly 6 pounds of marijuana will spend up to 5 years in prison.
Bryan Lee Camp, 50, of Salt Lake City, will be eligible for parole after 2 years under a sentence imposed Monday by 3rd District Judge Molly J. Huskey. He'll also pay a $5,000 and $600 restitution for investigative costs.
Idaho State Police troopers stopped Camp on the freeway April 28 for a traffic violation and found the 5.7 pounds of pot in his car. Camp later admitted that he'd purchased the marijuana from a grower in Oregon and was transporting it back to Utah when he was stopped.
Camp has been in the Canyon County Jail since his arrest. He's now awaiting transport to prison.
