Judd E. Ballard is being held in the Ada County Jail on five counts of possession of sexually exploitative material after police say they found images of child pornography on computers in Ballards East Boise home late last week.
Police began investigating the 37-year-old Ballard in September after getting a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and found the illegal images on computers after serving a search warrant at Ballards home in the 1600 block of South Colorado Avenue Friday afternoon.
Investigators say Ballard was downloading illegal images from the Internet. He was arrested and booked into the jail Friday afternoon.
Ballard will make his initial court appearance Monday.
The crime of possession of sexually exploitative materials is punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
