Idaho colleges roundup: Idaho State soccer team headed to NCAA Tournament

The Bengals won the Big Sky championship Sunday in Pocatello, defeating Montana in penalty kicks in the title game. After ending regulation and two overtimes tied 0-0, ISU prevailed 4-3 in penalty kicks. It is the fifth Big Sky title for the Bengals, who will return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006. ISU will learn its first-round opponent Monday during the Division I selection show (2:30 p.m., NCAA.com).

BOISE STATE VOLLEYBALL: The Broncos swept nonconference opponent Cal State Bakersfield in three sets at Bronco Gym, winning 26-24, 25-19, 25-23. It was the third straight win for BSU (14-12, 5-5 MW). Liz Harden and Leah Stevens led the Broncos with 10 kills apiece.
