TIMBERLAKE 15, WEISER 13

Weiser held Timberlake to 136 yards of total offense, but Timberlake advanced without scoring an offensive touchdown. Preston Rhodes returned a kickoff 83 yards and Mason Cramer scooped and scored on an 87-yard fumble return for Timberlake. Weiser’s Justin Roberts also returned a fumble for a touchdown and Dustin Kistenmacher had a 3-yard touchdown run, but the Wolverines couldn’t muster another score.

SALMON RIVER 24, DEARY 18

Salmon River converted 3-of-3 two-point conversion attempts, and that was the difference in the state quarterfinal. Deary was 0-for-3 on its conversions. “We put a lot of emphasis on making two-point conversions, and the boys executed,” Salmon River coach Charlie Shepherd said. Salmon River overcame four turnovers as Leighton Vander Esch threw for 122 yards and rushed for 142, and Terrun Zolman made 12 tackles and a sack for Salmon River.

GARDEN VALLEY 32, KOOTENAI 8

Garden Valley trounced Kootenai and will take on Lighthouse Christian, the defending state champion, in the semifinals. Kootenai entered the quarterfinals averaging 39.8 points per game before being slowed by the Garden Valley defense.
