MADISON 28, CAPITAL 14

Tied at 14-14 in the third quarter, Capital marched 97 yards from its own 1-yard line to Madison’s 2, but the Bobcats’ bend-but-don’t-break defense made a huge stop on fourth-and-1 to get the ball back. On the next play, Logan Anderson found Logan Lee for a 98-yard TD pass and Capital never recovered. Capital’s Makena Simis completed 23-of-32 passes for 311 yards and one TD with four interceptions and Tarik Littlejohn made nine catches for 105 yards.

COEUR D’ALENE 45, ROCKY MOUNTAIN 0

Coeur d’Alene jumped on Rocky Mountain early and led 31-0 at half. Landry Batis made eight catches for 110 yards for Rocky Mountain, which lost its fourth straight game after starting 6-0.

BLACKFOOT 30, BISHOP KELLY 20

Bishop Kelly couldn’t keep up with Blackfoot’s balanced offensive attack after the first quarter ended tied 14-14. Turner Simmons caught 10 passes for 94 yards and two TDs, Cory Brady made three receptions for 85 yards with one TD and Bowen Ogata threw for 230 yards for Bishop Kelly. Blackfoot established the run (47 carries, 197 yards) and also threw for 166 yards.

SKYVIEW 28, MINICO 14

Skyview’s steadily built a 28-0 lead in the fourth quarter before Minico scored two late TDs. Jaxon Pryor rushed 32 times for 247 yards and Anthony Marin threw for 186 yards and four TDs for Skyview. The Hawks’ defense, led by Travis Haynes’ two sacks, forced three turnovers and Minico converted only 2-of-12 third downs.

MIDDLETON 36, TWIN FALLS 7

The Vikings rushed for 280 yards and easily advanced to the 4A semifinals. Victor Dias had 19 carries for 96 yards and Middleton’s first touchdown of the game, and Max Foote added 12 carries for 61 yards, one TD and a two-point conversion. The Vikings defense held Twin Falls to 131 total yards.

FRUITLAND 35, PAYETTE 18

Fruitland outgained District Three foe Payette 334-47 on the ground during a state quarterfinal victory. Kris Olinger scored twice for the Grizzlies, running for 129 yards on 18 carries. Joe Martarano also scored twice for Fruitland, including a 13-yard interception return. Emilio Winn led Payette with six catches for 200 yards and two touchdowns.

MARSING 20, SALMON 14

Marsing won in its first trip to the 2A quarterfinals since 2006 and will take on Declo in the semifinals.
