Police: 30-year-old Meridian woman arrested for third DUI since 2004

Published: November 1, 2012

Adrea I. Palmer is being held in the Ada County Jail on a felony DUI charge after Meridian Police say she was involved in a three car pileup on Ustick Road Wednesday afternoon.

The DUI arrest is Palmer’s third since 2004, and second excessive DUI since 2010, which means tests showed her blood alcohol content (bac) percentage was over .20 for both of those arrests, according to Idaho Court records and police reports. The legal bac limit in Idaho is .08.

Court records also show Palmer is still on probation for her 2010 DUI conviction.

Meridian police arrested Palmer after they were sent to investigate a three car crash at Ustick Road and North Venable Lane, which is just west of Settlers Park, at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers later determined Palmer’s minivan was hit after she pulled in the path of another car near the intersection. That impact pushed Palmer’s van into a different car, according to reports.

The officer talking to Palmer detected a strong odor of alcohol and said she failed field sobriety tests. Officers took Palmer to the Meridian Police station, where she took the breath test. She was then arrested and booked into the jail.

Palmer will make her initial court appearance Thursday afternoon.

The crime of felony DUI is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
