A 14-year-old boy is listed in critical condition at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center after Ontario police say he and his brother were hit by a driver from Caldwell as they were crossing a street on their way to school Tuesday morning.

Ontario police say the 21-year-old woman from Caldwell was driving a 1995 Ford car westbound on SW 4th Avenue just after 7:30 a.m. when she hit two boys, who were walking in a crosswalk.

The 16-year-old boy was treated and released at an Ontario hospital after the crash. An air ambulance took his brother to Saint Al’s in Boise.

The case is still under investigation and no charges had been filed as of 3 p.m. Tuesday.
