Former Boise Hawks manager Kotchman resigns

Published: October 28, 2012

Tom Kotchman resigned after 29 years in the Angels organization. Earlier this month, the Angels asked Kotchman to leave his coaching duties with the Class-A Orem (Utah) Owlz and focus solely on scouting.

Friday, Kotchman decided to resign instead. “We thought it was important to separate the two roles,” Angels General Manager Jerry DiPoto told the Los Angeles Times. “But by no stretch did we want to lose Tom Kotchman. We felt he was a tremendous asset to the organization.”

Kotchman coached the Hawks for 11 years (1990 to 2000) and won four Northwest League titles during that time. His No. 11 jersey was retired by the Hawks in 2006.
