BOISE 62, MERIDIAN 61

Two teams with nothing to play for put on a show. Boise’s Tanner Gustavsen scored on an 8-yard run with 1 second left, then ran in the two-point conversion to cap a 59-yard drive that began with 1:20 left in the game. Boise scored 31 points in the fourth quarter to erase a 54-31 deficit, and the teams combined for 1,168 yards of offense. Gustavsen threw for 415 yards and three touchdowns, and also ran for 85 yards and four TDs. Skyler Rowe, Gustavsen’s main target, made 16 catches for 240 yards, and Cameron Mayne caught three touchdowns (two in the fourth quarter) and 105 receiving yards. Jake Berard accounted for 290 total yards and four total touchdowns for Meridian, and Bryson Stout scored four TDs, including a 92-yard kickoff return. Stout was one yard away from being Meridian’s third 100-yard rusher — Berard had 122 and Darian Laboto finished with 112.

MOUNTAIN VIEW 47, VALLIVUE 20

Despite being eliminated from playoff contention Thursday night, Mountain View showed up and blew out Vallivue to finish in fifth place in the 5A Southern Idaho Conference.

BISHOP KELLY 70, NAMPA 7

Bishop Kelly gained 552 yards of total offense (360 rushing, 192 passing), and Andrew Spangler piled up 202 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Rhett Suciu and Joshua Poole also scored rushing TDs for BK, the District Three No. 2 seed heading into the playoffs. Nathaniel Vallejo rushed for 77 yards for Nampa.

SKYVIEW 32, COLUMBIA 20

Skyview, locked-in as the District Three No. 3 seed, used 19 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to beat Columbia. Anthony Marin threw for 412 yards and four touchdowns for Skyview, and Joe Miller caught seven passes for 207 yards, including a 73-yarder with 3:43 remaining. Walker Ray also topped 100 receiving yards for the Hawks (144 on nine catches) and scored the go-ahead touchdown. Austin Schaffer ran for 104 yards and two TDs for Columbia.

EMMETT 56, CALDWELL 14

Emmett’s Austin Schroeder rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns, and also returned a fumble 8 yards for a touchdown. Hunter Larson also pitched in two rushing touchdowns and ran for 79 yards.

WEISER 42, KIMBERLY 0

Flint Hickman and Dustin Kistenmacher combined for five rushing touchdowns, and Weiser advanced in the 3A state playoffs. Hickman also ran for a game-high 131 yards. Elias Daniel led the Wolverines defense with five total tackles and Andrew Williamson’s 51-yard pick-six made it 28-0 in the third quarter.

SALMON RIVER 54, TRI-VALLEY 6

Jimmy Shepherd’s 171 receiving yards and two touchdowns helped Salmon River clinch the District Three regular season title and No. 1 seed entering next week’s playoffs. Leighton Vander Esch completed 9-of-10 passes for 252 yards and had five total TDs. Jesse Cada scored on a 21-yard run for Tri-Valley.

GARDEN VALLEY 28, HORSESHOE BEND 14

Facing a must-win to get into the playoffs, Garden Valley came through thanks to Lance Jones and his 131 receiving yards and two touchdowns from Kavik Fairburn. Garden Valley is the District Three No. 2 seed.

CHALLIS 42, RIMROCK 40

Challis returned three kickoffs and a fumble for a touchdown and beat Rimrock in a 1A Division I play-in game. Rimrock overcame a 30-14 deficit at half and led 32-30 midway through the third quarter, but couldn't hang on.
