Phase one consisted of building a 325,000-square-foot power center on 30 acres of land next to the citys new, 60-acre Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park. Plans for phase two, the 49 acres next to phase one, call for a 645,000-square-foot, up-scale shopping village featuring retail, entertainment and office space. It is expected to open next fall.
Situated on the intersection of Eagle Road and Fairview Avenue, the center's first phase includes retailers Gordmans, Petco, Nike Factory Outlet, Gap Factory, Chick-fil-A, Big Al's, and Marshalls.
Fully built, the shopping center will offer 970,000 square feet of space. California-based developer CenterCal Properties began work on the project in 2006, but set it aside when the recession struck. Now the entire project is expected to be completed by 2014.
