Boise State University enrolled 22,678 students for the 2012 fall term. Enrollment in fall of 2011 was 19,664.

The university says it cannot say whether that enrollment is an increase, because part of the increase came from new ways Idaho universities are calculating enrollment. The universities are also including students concurrently enrolled in high school classes. At Boise State University, there are 2,178 such students.

The University of Idaho reported fall enrollment of 12,493.

Beginning this year, the Idaho universities' enrollment figures were based on enrollment Oct. 15. Previously, they were based on enrollment on the 10th day after classes began.
