Steelheads win first game of the season in a shootout

Steelheads forward Tristan King scored four goals in regulation as Idaho defeated the Colorado Eagles 7-6 in a shootout Wednesday night in Loveland, Colo. Andrew Carroll and Kael Moullierat also scored for Idaho (1-2) to give coach Brad Ralph his first victory on his 32nd birthday. Idaho goalie Tyler Beskorowany turned away 4-of-5 shots in the shootout to nail down the win. Prior to the game, Ralph added four players to his roster.

• Mouillierat, a forward, was named to the all-ECHL rookie team while playing with Idaho in 2011. He had a goal and an assist Wednesday.

• Adrian Foster was a first-round draft pick in 2001 by the New Jersey Devils. The 30-year-old AHL veteran had four assists Wednesday.

• Defenseman Hubert Labrie played 14 games for Idaho last season. Labrie was assigned to the Steelheads by the Dallas Stars organization.

• Forward Sam Carrick, 20, was drafted in the fifth round in 2010 by the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was assigned to Idaho by the Toronto organization.
