Senior guard Felicity Jones was voted the Cascade Conference’s preseason player of the year by the conference’s 10 coaches. Jones was joined on the preseason squad by her teammate Katelin Shannon, also a senior guard.
• Eastern Oregon was the preseason choice to win the Cascade Conference women’s basketball championship. The College of Idaho was picked to finish third in the poll released Tuesday.
• Oregon Tech, the defending champion, was the preseason favorite in the Cascade Conference men’s basketball poll. The College of Idaho was picked to finish sixth.
COLLEGE OF IDAHO GOLF: The women’s team took second place in the Warner Pacific Invitational on Tuesday in Brush Prairie, Wash. The C of I’s Trish Gibbens finished in second place in the individual competition with a three-day total of 241. The men’s team finished in last place.
BOISE STATE MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY: Barak Watson was named the Mountain West co-athlete of the week.
IDAHO STATE SOCCER: Sophomore forward Amanda Ellsworth was named the Big Sky offensive player of the week.
