Ada County coroner identifies body found in Boise park Sunday

Published: October 14, 2012

A body found Sunday in a small canal near the duck pond in Ann Morrison Park has been identified as James Allen, a transient who was living in the Boise area, the Ada County Coroner's Office and police said Monday.

The cause of the 47-year-old's death has not yet been determined. The coroner's report said there were no obvious signs of injury. Toxicology tests will be done.

A park user called 911 at about 5:44 p.m., immediately after discovering the body. Boise police detectives and the Ada County coroner are investigating. A cause of death has not yet been determined.

Investigators say initial evidence indicates the man didn't die Sunday and that his body has been in the park for some time.
