The Broncos won a five-set marathon Saturday night, defeating the Wolf Pack 22-25, 25-15, 22-25, 25-20, 15-10 at Bronco Gym. Liz Harden led BSU with 19 kills, Brittany Reardon chipped in 13, and Fiona Jones and Leah Stevens added 10 apiece. It was the third straight for the Broncos (11-10, 3-3 MW).
BSU CROSS COUNTRY: The men placed 13th and the women took 14th at the Pre-National Invitational in Louisville. Barak Watson was the top Bronco finisher, taking 43rd in the 8k in 23:59.1. Tessa Murray led the women in the 6k race, finishing 57th in 21:07.7. Colorado won the mens title, while Florida State took the womens.
COLLEGE OF IDAHO CROSS COUNTRY: The Coyotes swept the team and individual titles at the George Fox/Adidas Classic in Portland. Greg Montgomery won his fourth individual title of the season, covering the 8,000-meter course in 25 minutes, and the Coyotes placed all five of their scorers in the top 10. On the womens side, all five C of I runners placed in the top eight. Hillary Holt won her third straight individual title with a time of 17:35 in the 5k.
C OF I VOLLEYBALL: Torrey Hulsey recorded 13 kills and six blocks as the Coyotes earned their 69th straight home Cascade Conference win, beating Northwest 26-24, 25-13, 25-20. It was the 13th straight victory for the C of I (16-4, 13-0 CCC) and clinched a berth in the CCC postseason tournament.
C OF I WOMENS SOCCER: The Coyotes topped Warner Pacific 4-1 in Caldwell, scoring three goals during a four-minute span late in the first half. Sarah Hicks, Sydney Woods, Bri Blair and Mekenzie Messick all scored for the C of I (4-5-1, 3-2-0 CCC), while Brianna Strodtbeck had two assists.
C OF I MENS SOCCER: Corban edged the Coyotes 1-0 in Caldwell. The C of I falls to 1-9-2, 1-7-0 CCC.
NORTHWEST NAZARENE VOLLEYBALL: Western Oregon defeated the Crusaders 25-19, 19-25, 25-13, 25-22 in Nampa. The Crusaders (10-10, 3-6 GNAC) were led by Becky Flores with 12 kills and Elayna Rice with 10.
NNU WOMENS SOCCER: The Crusaders fell to Central Washington 2-0 in Ellensburg, Wash. NNU drops to 6-8-0, 3-7-0 GNAC.
