Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State picks up first MW soccer win of year

Shannon Schueren scored in the 77th minute to lift the Broncos past Air Force 1-0 on Friday in Colorado Springs, Colo. Schueren’s goal — her sixth of the year and second game-winner — was set up by KT Clayton, who lobbed a ball toward the far post from the corner of the 18-yard box. Boise State (6-8-1, 1-2 MW) plays at Wyoming on Sunday.

• BOISE STATE MEN’S TENNIS: The Broncos’ Scott Sears beat San Diego’s JT Boyd 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (11-9) in the singles round of 32 at the Battle in the Bay Classic in San Francisco. He will play Pacific’s Sem Verbeek in the next round.

• IDAHO VOLLEYBALL: The Vandals (9-10, 7-2 WAC) won their sixth in a row by beating Louisiana Tech 25-23, 25-16, 25-23 in Ruston, La. Idaho’s offense featured 11 kills from Allison Baker.

• COLLEGE OF IDAHO WOMEN’S SOCCER: Concordia scored a goal with less than 4 minutes remaining in the second overtime to hold off the C of I (3-5-1, 2-2 CCC) 1-0 in Caldwell.

• C OF I VOLLEYBALL: The Coyotes (15-4, 12-0 CCC) had 44 kills in a 25-14, 25-16, 25-19 sweep of Evergreen in Caldwell.
