Oregon couple enjoys strong day at Firebird

The husband and wife pair of Mark and Debbie Dawson from Sutherlin, Ore., moved into the Super Roller final at the NAPA Halloween Classic XIX at Firebird Raceway on Friday. Debbie defeated Mark by .014 of a second. Debbie drove her ’76 Vega to a winning elapsed time of 10.08 at 132.72 miles per hour to beat a 9.17-136.71 by her husband’s ’27 Ford Roadster. Mark Kidd of Twin Falls had his second straight win in the Hi-Roller Division. Gates open at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
