An eight-year-old Garden City girl was hospitalized after being struck by a truck near East 42nd Street and Adams Street Friday. Police were called to the crash at about 8 p.m.
They say the girl was with family members when she walked into the intersection and was hit by a Dodge truck driven by a 35-year-old Garden City man. Ada County paramedics responded to the scene and took the girl to a Boise hospital where she is listed in critical condition, police say.
Garden City and Boise police are continuing to investigate the accident. No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made. Sgt. Robert Little with the Garden City police said alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
They are asking for help from anyone who may have been in the area and saw the accident. Anyone with information should call the police at 472-2950 or Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
