Boise State (13-17 in 2011-12) returns the top six scorers from last years team. The Broncos, in their final season in the Mountain West, have just one senior and 10 underclassmen (five sophomores and five freshmen) on the roster for coach Leon Rices third season. BSU hosts Saint Martins in an exhibition game at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2 and hosts Texas Southern in the season opener on Nov. 11 at 2 p.m.
Idaho (19-14) will play two exhibition games Oct. 27 against Seattle Pacific and Nov. 2 against Central Washington. The Vandals open their season against Wright State in Moscow on Nov. 9.
Idaho State (9-21) opens practice Friday. The Bengals open the regular season at Utah State on Nov. 10.
NORTHWEST NAZARENE VOLLEYBALL: Cora Christensen and Elayna Rice combined for 20 kills as the Crusaders defeated Saint Martins 25-10, 25-20, 25-21. NNU improves to 10-9, 3-5 GNAC.
NNU MENS SOCCER: The Crusaders extended their winning streak to five games with a 2-1 double overtime victory over Saint Martins in Olympia, Wash. John DiLulo and Chris Voth scored for NNU (7-2-3, 6-0-2 GNAC).
IDAHO VOLLEYBALL: The Vandals won their fifth straight, taking down Texas-Arlington 25-9, 27-25, 22-25, 25-18 on the road. Junior Allison (Walker) Baker had 19 kills, 14 digs and five blocks for the Vandals (8-10, 6-2 WAC). It was her WAC-leading 13th double-double of the season, and she has recorded double-digit kills in 34 straight matches.
IDAHO SOCCER: Chelsea Small and Annie Millard scored in a 2-0 win over San Jose State in Moscow. It was the first WAC victory of the season for Idaho (4-11-1, 1-2-1 WAC).
