Suspicious fire scorches 2 student vehicles at Boise State

Police and fire officials were investigating a blaze at a Boise State University parking garage on Thursday that heavily damaged two vehicles.

No one was injured when the fire broke out on the top level of the Lincoln Avenue Garage at Lincoln and University Drive. The fire burned a GMC Jimmy SUV and a Jeep Wrangler owned by BSU students. The parking garage is used for on-campus housing residents.

A passerby alerted firefighters to the blaze about 6:45 a.m. after noticing dark smoke billowing from the top of the garage.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call 343-COPS or submit tips at www.343cops.com.
