Hot 'N' Tots.JPG

Pete Zimowsky

Storm’s Hot-N-Tot is a classic plug for back trolling during steelhead season on the Salmon and Clearwater rivers. (Back trolling is where a drift boat or jet boat is held still in the river, letting the river current work the plugs.)

Some of my favorite colors are the metallics in blues and golds and shades of chartreuse and pink.

The 2-inch model dives 5 to 14 feet while the 2 1/2-inch model goes from 7 to 20 feet.

Expect to pay upwards of $6 for each plug, depending on the size.
