• Falcons tight end Tommy Gallarda (Boise State) appeared to have made his first career reception — and scored his first touchdown — in Atlanta’s win over Carolina last Sunday. But the play was nullified after it was ruled that Gallarda pushed off on the play. Instead of a touchdown, he drew an offensive pass interference penalty.

• Texans safety Shiloh Keo (Idaho) injured his shoulder during Houston’s game against the Titans last week, but he is expected to play against the Jets on Monday night. In fact, Keo is expected to see more playing time because starting strong safety Quintin Demps has a broken forearm and is out indefinitely.

• Some fantasy sites are downgrading Bucs running back Doug Martin (Boise State) because his production has diminished since he ran for 95 yards in the season opener. But coach Greg Schiano is confident that Martin has some breakout runs ahead of him.

“I’d like to give it a little more time until the offensive line gets settled down a little bit more,” Schiano told the Pewter Report, a Buccaneers fan site. “… The more LeGarrette (Blount) feels good and we keep getting him in there, the more that’s a different back-and-forth different styles, I think that will also help in Doug’s production."

• Cardinals left guard Daryn Colledge (Boise State) was part of an offensive line that allowed nine sacks in Thursday’s loss to the Rams. He said Arizona is going to have to establish a run game in future contests to slow down the opponent’s pass rush.

“You can’t throw the ball 50 times and hope you’re not going to get sacks,” Colledge told Arizona Sports 620. “We have to run the ball better. We have to do better earlier in the game so we aren’t behind.”

• Defensive end Jeff Charleston (Idaho State) was released by the Bucs last week after a short stint with the team.
